The Reverend Larry Christian Green was born and reared in Virginia. He received his early education in public schools of New Kent County, Virginia; graduating from the George W. Watkins High School. He is a graduate of Virginia Union University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He has also received a Master of Divinity degree from The School of Theology, Virginia Union University and a Master of Theology degree from Union Theological Seminary of Virginia.

The Reverend Mr. Green worked as an environmental planner for the Virginia State Water Control Board. He was ordained from the Good Sheperd Baptist Church of Richmond where he was active as a Sunday School Teacher, Youth group sponsor and Deacon. He also served as Pastor of the First Union Baptist Church of Richmond, Virginia before accepting the call to serve as Pastor of the Grace Baptist Church of Waterbury. He has served in this capacity since the Fall of 1984. He is highly recognized as one who cares for and comforts those in situations of trouble. Reverend Green is committed to the church being God's instrument of change and renewal in the real world.

The Reverend Mr. Green is married to Dr. Dorothy Libron-Green, a professor of mathematics at Naugatuck Valley Community-Technical College. They are proud parents of two children: Laurette Cidonnie, a graduate student at the University of Michigan and Larry Christian Green, Jr. , a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy who is now working and living in New York City, and one grandson Cameron Christian Green.
